Jamestown, a real estate operator that started as an investment and management company in 1983, unveils an exciting development in the Seaport District. Constructed in 1918 by the U.S. Department of Defense, the Innovation and Design Building is located in the Boston Marine Industrial Park in the eastern portion of the Seaport District and stands eight stories tall. Its current 1.4 million SF of space includes the Boston Design Center and is home to over 200 businesses that include artisans and craftspeople as well as market stalls for New England’s finest antiques dealers. The current enhancement process the building is undergoing will convert 206,336 SF into areas for food vendors, kiosks, seating, and new event spaces on the ground floor. TG Gallagher was responsible for installing new HVAC and plumbing systems in the underused space in buildings 21- 23 - 25 on Drydock Avenue. TG Gallagher utilized its 40,000SF prefabrication warehouse to pre-pipe all pump skids, heat exchanges, and risers for the project in order to make installation proceed quickly and smoothly. Working on a tight timeline, TG Gallagher rose to the challenge and successfully delivered a solution that allowed the building to be occupied throughout the duration of installation.
