Cambridge, MA – Thomas G. Gallagher, Inc. has received the GreenStar designation by the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA). GreenStar status is awarded only to those HVAC contractors who have developed the knowledge and skills to deliver energy-efficient, cost-effective indoor environmental solutions to their customers. Thomas G. Gallagher is one of the first 20 mechanical contractors in the country to receive the designation.

“We’re very proud of our GreenStar designation,” says Brian Potter, CEO of Thomas G. Gallagher. “It’s one more indicator of our commitment to green building.” Potter and Senior Project Manager Mike Betts have earned certification as LEED Accredited Professionals, one of the requirements for the GreenStar award.

Other requirements include a green training program for employees, a consistent record of recommending sustainable services and green equipment to their customers, an internal “green policy” and participation in at least one LEED-certified project in the last three years. LEED Rating Systems are nationally accepted standards for sustainable green building practices, and TG Gallagher has completed or is working on more than 30 LEED-certified projects.

MSCA is the nation’s leading trade association for air conditioning, heating and refrigeration contractors. Executive Director Barbara Dolim says, “By attaining MSCA GreenStar status, Thomas G. Gallagher has demonstrated their dedication to promoting sustainability throughout their organization and delivering the very best environmental solutions to their customers."
